Graydon Staring joined the Journal's Board in 2010. Retired from the law firm of Nixon Peabody, Mr. Staring now acts as a consultant to the bar regarding the arbitration and litigation of matters of maritime law, private international law, and reinsurance. He is a Past President of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and Member of the California Academy of Appellate Lawyers. He is the author of The Law of Reinsurance and of numerous scholarly articles about maritime law. He has an A.B. from Hamilton College and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley.
