Edgar Gold joined the Journal's Editorial Board in 1994 after serving as the Journal's Book Review Editor (1976-93). A Queen's Counsel and senior partner with the Halifax law firm of Huestis Ritch, he was for twenty years a professor of maritime law at Dalhousie University. A master mariner with sixteen years of sea service, he is a past president of the Canadian Maritime Law Association, a titulary member of the Comité Maritime International, and the author of over 250 maritime law publications. Professor Gold holds a B.A. and an LL.B. from Dalhousie University and a Ph.D. from the University of Wales.
